Proper surface preparation is one of the most critical steps in any industrial flooring project, setting the foundation for a durable, long-lasting finish. At Preferred, we understand that a well-prepared surface is key to achieving optimal adhesion and performance of flooring materials, which is why we take extra care during this phase.

Our preparation process includes advanced techniques such as sandblasting and diamond grinding. These methods are essential to ensure that the concrete subfloor is smooth, level, and completely free from dirt, oils, and other contaminants. Diamond grinding, in particular, creates a micro-profile on the floor’s surface, enhancing its texture to support maximum adhesion for the floor-covering products. We also ensure that the surface is properly scarified, which improves bonding and reduces the risk of peeling or flaking over time.

After cleaning and preparing the surface, we apply the first coat of floor covering, allowing it to dry thoroughly overnight. This drying period is crucial for setting a strong base. Between coats, our team takes additional steps to sand the surface. Sanding between coats improves intercoat adhesion, ensuring that each layer bonds properly and the final result is resilient and smooth.

Our commitment to detail in surface preparation and cleaning ensures a high-performance, professionally finished floor that can withstand heavy traffic, spills, and daily wear in industrial settings.
